Parade Procedures
- Arrive at Czescik Marina on the East Branch of the harbor around 5:30pm and hover with DECORATION LIGHTS OFF…But don’t forget to have your navigation lights on. Czescik welcomes boats who want to tie up early on the day of the parade.
- Monitor VHF channel 12 for instructions from the lead and trailing committee boats. Please do not use for ship-to-ship communications unless you have an emergency or need to communicate with committee boats.
- At 6:00pm you will hear the Starting Canon signaling to light your boat and get ready for the parade. Have your camera ready…You will be amazed at this site.
- We will be traveling at approximately 3.0 – 3.5 knots and the travel time is roughly 60 minutes.
- We ask that boats start falling in behind the lead committee boat (TBA, closer to the event) in an orderly manner. Committee members may position boats that are playing music in strategic places in the lineup. Please keep 100′ open spaces between boats.
- We will proceed up thru the breakwall, cruise a quarter mile up the channel and then make a U turn from left to right so we do not cross the parade. We will have a boat at the break water directing traffic and remember at that point you will be on the wrong side of the channel so please keep a good lookout.
- We will then enter the West Branch of the harbor and continue to the finish around the police boat which is at Crab Shell, located at the north end of the harbor after the Stamford Landing Marina. This is where the judges will be located. You must drive around police boat to be judged or you will be disqualified.
- We plan on issuing #’s which should be attached to your port bow area for identification and judging. These can be picked up at West Marine prior to Friday, Nov. 27th.
- If you have problems communicating with the committee boats you can reach Andy Liljequist at 203.667.3546 or Dick Gildersleeve at 203.904.5776
